BOROUGH MILK SUPPLY.
PHJNKET NURSED REPORTS. At Monday's meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council the secretary of the local branch of the Plunket Society wrote enclosing two reports made by the Plunket nurse bn the question of the milk supply m New Plymouth It was felt that the state of the milk was a menace to the public health, and the letter asked that the Council should endeavor to do something to remedy the existing conditions. The first report of the nurse complained of mixing the night and morning's milk by dairymen, and suggested that if the dairymen were appealed to reasonably on the grounds of humanity, something could probably be done. She pointed out that milk so mixed was useless for infants, as unless it was boiled it would turn in from two to three hours. Some of the men did keep t'lie milk separate, but it was desirable that all should do so. In another report complaint was made that milk could not be secured when wanted, and the nurse instanced two or three cases where fresh milk was urgently needed for young infants and could not be secured.
