IRISH RED CROSS EFFORT.
THE FINAL RESULT. The committee of the Irish Red Cross effort held its final meeting for winding up of accounts last night. There was a full attendance, including also the secretary of the Red Cross branch (Mr. A. B. Gibson), the treasurer (Mr. Bell) and the secretary of the Copper Trail effort I (Mr. H. A. Stratford). Mr. W. T. Jennings, M.P.. presided, and- presented the balance-sheet, duly audited by the Government patriotic auditor (Mr. J. S. S. Medley), which showed receipts as follows: Emerald Lights concert, £sl lGs 9d, Sisters of the Mission concert, £34 las, donations (as per books) £IOO ss; sale of animals, £3O 0s 3d; dancing platform, £39 3s 8(1; jaunting car, £22 0s lOd; flower stall, £lO5 12s Id; mart, £Ol lis sd; raffle of section, £100; donations, £1 3s; late cash donation, £5; total, £671 Bs. The expenses amounted to only £ls 2s Od, less than 2i per cent, of the takings, the amount allowed by the Government being 10 per cent. The chairman congratulated the committee on the success of the effort, and in handing the cheque over to the Red Cross representatives, expressed his pleasure at seeing them present, and also at the successful result of the committee's effort. He also specially thanked the ladies for the great amount of work they had done in connection with the Mr. Bell, in acknowledging the cheque, praised the committee for the splendid result of their effort.
