KBTUHNED SOLDIER'S MISFORTUNE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, August 10. A serious accident occurred at Ahu Ahn, up the river, yesterday. A young man named Gordon Eandall, a returned soldier, was using his rifle aa a walkingstick when it discharged, the bullet entering below the jaw and lodging at the back of the eye. The accident occurred in rough country, and it took ten hours to get the w>oundcd man to the river-side. A launch i 3 bringing him to town, wlun lie will be taken to the hospital. He i; in a very low condition.
