SOMES ISLAND LAXITY.
MOUK GERMANS MISSING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, August i). Four Gorman internees disappeared from Somes Island between 2 and 7 this moruing, and are still at large. 'Hie names of the men are:—Charles ffadler, aged 33; William Otteng, alias Bra inner, aged 29; Paul Wolf, aged 33; Cdut Ruberstein, aged 21. Later. All efforts to discover Uk> whereabouts of four Germans who disappeared from their quarters on Somes Island at an early hour this morning have so utr prov.ed unsuccessful. The authorities on the island profess to be satisfied that the men did not escape in a boat. The weather was very tempestuous and a heavy sea running in the harbor, and the idea that the men attempted to swim to the mainland Is not entertained. It is thought possible that they may be hidden underground somewhere on the island. All were wearing blue or brown denims and military boots.
