INSTALLATION' (JF i;.\V BltO. \V\ I'. BROOiiING JUBILEE OF HIS INITIATION. The annual installation ceremony iu connection with tlie l)e Burgh Adams Masonic Lodge took place at the Good Templar Hall on Monday evening, there being n very largo attendance of the fraternity in addition to the local lodge.-. iPliere were also many visiting brethren from all parts of the Dominion. The gathering was of more than ordinary interest, inasmuch as KAY. Bro. W. F. Brooking, who was installed as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year, was also celebrating the jubilee of his .initiation into Freemasonry and the lodge. Wor. Bro. Brooking has held office almost continuously for fifty years, and for twenty-seven years has held the position of lodge secretary. B. W. Bro. Rees, Provincial Grand Master of the Irish Constitution, presided and conducted the ceremony of installation, this being the eighth occasion on which Bro. Brooking has occupied the position of W.M., whilst Yvor. Bro. Hayden acted as director of ceremonies.

The working tools in the third degree were given by V.W. Bro. W. H. Beadle; in the second degree by W. Bro. Toms; and the first by R. W. Bro. J. Ellis, who made the presentation of the working tools to the recipient 50 years ago on 'his initiation.

The address to the W.M. was given by R.W. Bro. Rees, to the Wardens by W, Bro. J. Hayden, and to the Brethren by V.W. Bro. A. L. Hammond. W. Bro. Perry presided at the organ, and Bro. McLeod acted as trumpeter. At the close of the'ceremony a presentation of a G.JL jewel was made to R.W. Bro. Brooking in commemoration of his jubilee in Masonry bv R.W. Bro. Goldwatcr, who voiced the best wisues of the brethren for Bro. Brooking's future good health and Masonic usefulness.

An appropriate hymn was sung for those fighting our battles at the front. The Grand Lodge of New Zealand was represented by R.W. Bro. Sargent (Prov. Cr.M.) and by R.W. Bro. Fookes (P.iP.G.M.), and the District Grand Lodge of England by W. Bro. Wells.

The W.M. installed the following officers:—T.P.U. Bro. W. C. N. S, B. Hoskin; Senior Warden, Bro. C. D. Grant; Junior Warden, V.W. Bro. R. M. Corney; Treasurer, li.W. Bro. W. F. Brooking; Secretary, R.W. Bro. A. Gold water; Chaplain, V.W. Bro. A. L. Hammond; Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro. John Toms; Organist, Bro. Sanders; Senior Deacon, Bro. A. R. Milne; Junior Deacon. Bro. H. R. Garnham; Inner Guard. Bro. L. Jack son; Senior Steward. Bro. E. J. Sole; Junior Steward. Bro. A. A. Wooller; Assistant Steward, Bro. A. J. Timbridge; Assistant Steward, Bro. W. H. I'reeee; Tyler. W. Bro. J. Ashcr.

Subsequently the brethren adjourned to Messrs May and ArrowsniiU.'s. where refreshments were served, after which the following toasi list was duly honored: "Tlie King and the Craft.'" pronosed by the W.M.; "Grand Masters end Prov. Grand Mosters in Masonry," proposed bv the W.M., and responded to bv R.W. Bros. Sargent and Rec-s; "The R.W.M. Bro. W. V. Brooking proposed by R.W. Bro. A. Goldwater, and responded to by the W.M.; ''lnstalling; Master." proposed by R.W. Bio. Brooking, and responded to by R.W. Bro. lines; 'Our Boys at tlie Front.'' proposed by liro. Lieut-Colonel Chaplain F. G. Kvans, and responded to by Bro. Major W. Joll; "Tyler's Toast," proposed by W. Bro. J. Asher.

The musical programme included sones by W. Bros. .Ferry and Broome, Bro. Sanders. and a cornet solo bv Bro. F. W. G. McLeod.

The gathering terminated with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
