After a stay of several years in Eltham, Mr. W. Harvey, chief clerk of tho local railway staff, has been promoted to Hawera, and leaves on , Wednesday morning. He is succeeded here by Mr. M'Laren, of Wanganui. Mr. Harvey's departure will be regretted by many who have found him very i<\uly to do his best to assist rn any deserving cause
Another of the enjoyable assemblies conducted bv the lady Tnembers of the Oddfellows' T-odge was held last evening in the Oddfellows' Hall, f here being a good attendance. Mr. T. Narbey was M.C., and Mr. L. Foster presided at the piano. Extras were contributed by Misses Waters and Henricksen-
