SUGAR SUPPLY.

A NEW AGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.

The Hon. W. D. S. Mad>onald*states that the Government, through the Board of Trade, has entered into a new agreement with the Colonial Sugar Company for the supply of sugar to merchants at £22 10s per ton. The new arrangement operates from July 1. Under the agreement expiring at the end of June the price was £22 per ton. On this figure the saving to New Zealand was £400,000 a year, by comparison with the rates in Australia. The Minister says the saving will be nearly the same for the Dominion by the new agreement,
