STRATFORD.
(From Out Own Correspondent.) [All communications, letters, etc., left with Mr H. J. Hopkins, bookseller, Kill receive prompt attention.] Stratford, June 27. At the Boruugh Council meeting 011 Monday evening, Cr. Cameron drew attention to the erection of verandaliposts not going to the full width of the footpath. It should (be understood that some years back the Council increased the width of the footpaths by 2ft, and allowed the verandahs to stand. Since then other builders have exorcised the same privilege, so that the extra space is rarely used through the posts being in the way. Quite recently new buildings and renovations have been carried out, with the posts in line with others standing. As a result of Cr. Cameron's observations, future buildings will eitlter liave to bring the posts to the kerbing or hang the verandah. The many friends of Mrs. M. In the past, Toko folk have established a reputation for their farewells, and, with anything like decent weather, there should certainly be a full house at the Coronation Hall on this occasion.
