A TARATA SEND-OFF.

To the Editor. Sir,—At the social in Tarata Hall on the Bth, quite a number were present for a double purpose. No mention was made by your correspondent to the fact that another young soldier had left to do his bit for the Empire. Our worthy chairman said a few words and presented "Ernie" Askew with a set of military brushes, wishing him, on our behalf, good luck and a safe return. He is about the last of the boys in this district to be of age for sometime, and we miss the youngster very much. "Ernie" responded with a few cheerful remarks and wa3 cheered to the echo. Our best Wishes go with him.—l am, etc., "LEST WE FORGET." Tarata, 12th June.
