SHORTNESS OF FARM LABOR.

To the Editor. Sir,—l can quite endorse "Patriot's" statement in reference to the fanners outcry about the shortness of farm labor. They have played this Btunt to their advantage for some time past. As a proof of the statement, if anyone will trouble to drive from New Plymouth to Urenui he will see a prosperous farmer and his sons and employees engaged on a metalling contract that will last for considerable length of time. I do not blame him in the least for doing this, but why the cry about shortness of farm labor?—l am, etc., "ANOTHER PATRIOT." Urenui, 13th June.
