(From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, May 9. Mr. W. R. Haselden, S.M., presided at a short sitting of -the Court here yesterday. Herbert Smith, charged with failing to register, stated that he bad re-vi°-tered two years ago, when resident ■it Auroa- In explanation, he admitted that he did not bother much, as lie knew V had little prospects of passing the Medical Board. He wa s a married man (without, family), and would like to enlist. The Magistrate said he would ndvi=e Smith to forward his enrolment application, and a conviction would he recorded, Smith to come up again if called upon.—For failing to attach a number plate to his motor-lorry, A. K Pnrkos was fined 5s and costs (7s). whilst a similar fine and costs were inflated upon ,T. Burke on a charge of failing to resistor a dog. Three hoys necessitated the holding of a Juvenile Court, their appearance before Mr. TTarelden. S.M., being the result of broken windows in Wilkinson's TTnU After hearing Constable Townsend, tlir' charge against one was withdrawn, pnd the other pair having pleaded guiitv. were fined Ift.i each, and had n fewwords of homely advice from the Magistrate.
