A COUR.T-MARTLAL SENTENCE, By Telegraph.—Press Association, Palmerston N., May 1, Alister Beaton, a reservist living at Moutea, was found guilty by court-mar-tial of failing to attend a medical parade, and sentenced to 28 days' detention. ARRIVAL OF AVIATION CADETS. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Defence adyisej thai a party of aviation cadets, who left cm a transport at the end of February, have reached their destination safely CI MEN DRAFTED. Wellington, La?t Night. . The number of men drafted into the Reinforcements from the CI camp is 1243 as a result of the special trainmg given. This is considered very satisfactory. NATIONAL APPLE SHOW. Auckland, Last Night. The National Patriotic Apple Show was opened by the Mayor (Mr. Guoson). in the" absence of the Minister of Agriculture. There are exhibits from all parts of tho Dominion. The quality ia a marked feature of the different varieties. Exceptionally fine provincial displays are made by the Canterbury and Auckland districts. The exhibits inpluds Central Otago, Stoke, Hawkes Bay and Henderson. Private entries number well over 1100. In addition there is an excellent collection of products by the or-: chard division of the Department of Agriculture.
