AMERICAN SUBMARINES. ' 'CROSS THE ATLANTIC, Washington, April 10. Many American submarines have gone
to European waters without mishap.
AMERICAN CO-OPERATION.
IN KEEPING THE SEAS SAFE". London, April 10. Mr. Archibald Hurd writes that a number of American dreadnoughts have for months past been operating under Admiral Beatty.- They are the newest vessels, with powerful armament, personnel and equipment. There are also cruisers, gunboats, and valuable small craft. Thirty-five thousand officers and men are serving in European waters. The Royal Navy specially appreciates American co-operation against the submarines.
AMERICAN STEAMER'S SENSATIONAL FIGHT.
Washington,. April 10. The American steamer El Occidente had 20 minutes sensational fight with two submarines in European waters. She smashed one periscope and drove off the other U-boat.
