THE ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. WON BY HAMILTON. At the conclusion of the third day's play at the Rotorua tournament, A- K Smart had won six games a?id lost two. On Wednesday lie defeated Eapleton (Rocky N00k)'29—24; O'Sullivan (Carlton) 21—lfi; and was defeated by Schnauer (Onehunga) lU II). Lobb (West End) had won four games and lost four. On Wednesday he defeated Rowland (Ponsonby) 20—10; Fish (Carlton) 28—19; and was defeated by Gatland (Onehunga) 19 —23. At the. conclusion of the fourth day's play Smart had won seven games and lost four, and Lobb had won five and lost six. On Thursday Smart was defeated by Ramson (Wliakatane) 9—20; by Condon (Whitiora) 1(1—2tl; and defeated Coe (Mount Eden) 28—23. Lobb defeated Wilkinson (Ellerslie) 20—IS, and was defeated by Dalton |Td Aroha) 15—19 and Hardley (West End, Auckland) 21—22, Rotorua, Feb. 23. The Rotorua howling tournament, wherein sixty .rinks had been competing, closed on Saturday. In the final, Bell (Hamilton) beat Warren (Carlton) bv 24 to 17. WAITARA v. FITZROY, Waitara and Fitzroy played a throerink match at Fitz.roy on Saturday afternoon in ideal weather, the visitors being defeated in every rink. Details of scores are as follow: Sale, Buckle, Weller, Higgs (s.) 20 v. Harrison. Bent, Knuckev, Rattenbury (s) 23. v " Oxenham, Urst, Roberts, Smith (s.) 20 v. George, Telfar, Were, C. At a meeting of the Taranaki Bowling Centro's Executive last Thursday, the balance sheet of the New Year's tournament was presented and disclosed a balance of £ls. It was decided to hold a pairs tournament at Easter on the same lines as last year, provided sufficient inducement was forthcoming, the games to be played on the Tnglewood and Stratford greens on flood Friday, Saturday, and Easter Monday, the entrance fee to be 10s.
