Loudon, Jan. 22. , -Tlie Admiralty reports: The Goeben and Breslau emerged from tlie Dardanelles at early morn on Sunday and -attacked our forces northward- of Imbrbs, with the result that two of our monitors werg sunk. The enemy went Southward ofrlnibros,where t'lie Breslau wop forced into tlie minefield, where she was mined and sank. The Goeben went tyjl-speed for the Dardanelles.. Turkish destroyers coming to the assistance of the Breslau were driven oil'. The Goeben also struck a mine at the entrance to the Dardanelles reducing her speed and causing her tp settle down aft. Finally she beached herself on the west side of Nagara, where" by aircraft. •> ■ We rescued 17-3 from the Breslau, whilst 132 were saved from our monitors out of 311. i .MONITOR COMMANDER SAVED. Beceived Jan. 22, 8 p.m. London,- Jan. 21. Viscount Broome, Kitchener's nephew nml heir, commanding a monitor sunk at the Dardanelles, was saved uninjured;. . TRAINING SHIP BURNED. Received Jan. 22, 11.45 p.m. , London, Jan. 22. The training ship'Warspite'was burned to the water's edge, following a bunker fire. All the boys are safe.
