CANTERBURY v. WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 22. The Canterbury-Wellington cricket ilrntch was resumea this morning. Canterbury lost 4 wickets for 74 runs in the second innings. Gray and Thomas batted briskly, the former scoring 10 oil' one over from Hiddlestone. With the score at 127, Thomas Was run out. Brice bowled' in place of Hiddlestone. Perrin was caUght in the slips by Dind off Garrod, after seoring 12. ■ Read and Gray carried the score to I!>3 by slow batting off Marris and Lambert, then the latter took two wickets in an over, first Read and then Gray, both being clqan bowled. Gray had made 87. Canterbury's second innings concluded for 282 (?) —Perriil 12, North 7, Allardyce 7, Booth 0, Morris Gray 87, llcese S, Hay 18, Read 12, Howell 20 not out, Fuller 8; extras 27. Bowling.—Hiddlestone, no wickets for 54 runs; Garrow, 7 for 59; Brice, none for 4;>; Marris, none for 17 j Lambert, two for 26. At the luncheon adjournment Wellington had scored 25 without loss of a wicket (Hiddlestone 10, Wilson J)). WIN FOR WELLINGTON Wellington, Last Night. Wellington won the match by seven wickets. Canterbury's second innings produced 228, Gray scoring 87 by vigorous cricket. Requiring 23»' runs to win, Hiddlestone and Wilsoni opened for Wellington, and scored 103 before % being separated by Wilson getting his leg in front to Tlioriias. Burton played steadily, but at lf>7 lost Hiddlestone, who was bowled by Reese. Dind came next, scoring slowly, but Baker, the next man, played more freely,, and, with Burton, got the necessary runs.
