ARABIA
SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS. ARABS DEFEAT TURKS. Received Jan. 22, 8 p.m. Ldmlon, Jan 21. The Press Bureau states that Arab ..forces have been conducting successful operations since January 1. In tlie neighborhood of Ma an they occupied a strong position at Abuiissal, also Maghaira, and compelled the Turks to evacuate Nish forest, which is a serious •blow, as it provides the fuel supply for tho Medina railway. After a two days' engagement north of Maan the Arabs occupied Jaufedderwish.. and killed 80 and captured 200, also one field gun. British aeroplanes thrice bombed Maan.
