BUILDING STEEL SHIPS. STEEL PLATE PLANTS ENCOURAGED 1 Ottawa, Jan. 4. The Government has decided to undertake on an extensive scale the building of steel ships of from live to ten thousand tons. Existing shipyards will he utilised and new ones established. Encouragement will be given to the laying down of steel plate plants, with the object of Canada producing her own steel plates. SPAIN. DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT. Madrid, Jan. 4. The King has dissolved Parliament, and the elections have been fixed for February 17, the meeting of the new parliament to take place on March 11. King Alfonso has dissolved the Chamber. The new parliament meets on lltli March.
