COALING DIFFICULTIES.
OWING TO SEVERE FROST. . New York, .Tan. 4. The temperature for nearly a week has been down to zero. The coal shortage is holding up 150 slhips. The authorities are using tugs to clear the ice floes and release barges ice-bound at the coal piers.
