BRITISH FRONT STIFFENING. CONFIDENT IN FACING COMING BLOW. London, Dec. 17. Mr. Murdoch, writing from headquarters, says the British front is stiffening for any possible onslaught. Sir Douglas llaig reports: Raiding parties attacked two posts in the vicinity of tho Ypres-Comines canal. We repulsed one attack, but in the other the enemy entered the post and captured a few men. We counter-attacked, recapturing the post and men, killing or taking prisoner .a number of the enemy. Mutual artilierying is proceeding on the remainder of the front. There was heavy snow last night and it continued to-day. NOTHING DOTNG. London, Dec. 17. Sir Douglas Haig's summary last night was: There is nothing to report. A GERMAN REPORT. London, Dec. 17. Wireless German official: English attacks south of Fontaine broke clown.
