Speaking at a civic welcome, Dr. Morrison strongly urged developments in Australia's trade witn China. Failing the appointment of a resident, lie suggested Australia sending a general commissioner. Inquiry into recent happenings had cleared the atmosphere with, regard to China's treaty obligations. Any attempt in the direction suggested would have a warm welcome from the Chinese authorities.
