MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.
APPEALS AT HAWERA. . . The First Wellington Military Service Board sat in Hawera on Saturday morning. Tiie following appeals were withdrawn iinil formally dismissed: .James Richard Slight. butcher. Xoniianby: Andrew Bernard Gallagher, draughtsman, Hawera. Tiie appeal of Arthur Morris Evans, farmer Awatuna, which was before the Hoard 011 -October Ir> Inst, was further considered. Appellant said his circumstances had not changed sine? his last appearance before the Board. Mr. o'l>a appeared for the appellant. The Efficiency Trustees did not report favorably upon the appellant's cast. Decision was reserved.
The case of Ernest Atkinson,, sharemilker, Kaupokonui, whose appeal was before the Board in October last, was again reviewed. Appellant said lie desired time until after the cows were dried oft'.
The appeal was dismissed, appellant being granted leave until April 30. Mr. Bennett appeared for Frederick George fhisnnll, dairy farmer. Hawera. whose ease was previously heard by the Board in October. Appellant said there was no alteration in his circumstances.
Decision was reserved sine die sn long as appellant, reports monthly to the group commander that, he Is still i:i his present position.
The appeal of William Keith Clia-vi-mar., dairv farmer, Eltham. which v. p.s considered by tl'.e Board in 'October. wa= further reviewed. Mr. Powell appeared for the appellant. Appellant slate:] that if (lie Board decided that he should go into camp lie would desire leave until the "lid of tl'.e season. Decision was reserved.
The adjourned appeal of Jesse Tsgar, Tuna. Midhirst. was further reviewed. Mr. O'Dca, instructed bv Mr. Rutherford. Stratford, appeared for appellant, who stated that his position had not changed since his last appearance before the Board. Decision was reserved.
The case of .Tames Edward Sole, dairy farmer, Hawera. - for whom Mr. F. C. Spratt appeared-, whose appeal was before the Board in October last, was again considered.
Evidence was called by Mr. Spratt to show that the appellant was arranging to dispose of oil" of his leases, and the transaction had not. vet been completed. 'Decision was reserved. The Board adjourned until Monday.— Star.
