DRY OR WET MEALS.
THE SIX O'CLOCK CLOSING MEASURE. By Wire.—Our Parliamentary Reporter. Wellington, Last Night. Managers appointed by the two Houses met this evening to consider the difference that has arisen regarding the Council's amendments in the Sale of Liquor Restriction Bill. They failed to agree regarding the new clauses 4d and 4e, and another conference will require to be held on Monday, The chief point of difference is understood to be whether or not persons taking breakfast or dinner in hotels outside licensed hours shall be allowed to have liquor with their meals. The Council's | clause stipulates for dry meals. The House managers want liquor to be allowed with bona fide meals. A complete deadlock is not probable.
