BOWLING.

At the annual meeting of the Eltham Club, which was held last Thursday, Mr. L. X. Fail-hall was elected president. All members of the club on active service are to be honorary playing members during such service. Sunday play was sanctioned. The question of liquor on the green was strenuously debated, a motion in favor of providing liquor for visiting teams being ultimately withdrawn, whilst a further motion that no liquor be .allowed on the green was rejected. The following opening dates have been fixed: Waitara, Thursday, October .4; Ilawera, Wednesday, October , 10; New Plymouth, Thursday, October 18; Fitzroy, Thursday, November 1.
