EIFLE COMPETITION. (Our Special Correspondent.) Inglewood, Sept. 25. The Inglewood Rifle Club concluded the shooting competition on Thursday for the set of carvers presented to the club Vice-president O. Spurdle was the winner. Tavlor 83 70 IG-2 Rfm. Clarke 79 78 157 A triangular match will be fired at New Plymouth on Thursday, October 4, "between teams representing Urenui, inglewood, and New Plymouth. '•SCOTCH DAY." The Scottish clan interested in the holding of a big patriotic rally on October 5 and fi, met at Mr. J. Roberts' shop on Saturday night. The Mayor presided, and the reports forwarded showed that the prospects were excellent. For the concert on the Friday evening the soloists include Rev. Papakakura, Messrs A. O. Sturrock, McDonald, Aitkin, Misses Mouat and Laing. The programme will also include Highland piping and dancing. For the Saturday the committee have received very generous promises of support. Mr. A. Lile has presented a Maniapoto filly, which is to be disposed of by a drawing, the tickets for which are 2s 6d each.
