NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A, BEWLEY WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. The final for the championship of the New Plymouth CT.il) was played on .Saturday, the contest being between A. Bewley, winner of the Saturday section, and W. P. Nieoll, winner of tho Thursday section. The game was one of 30 holes. 18 being played in the morning and IS during the afternoon. Tho forenoon's play resulted in favor of Bewley with 2 up, and during the afternoon hemaintained his advantage, eventually winning the club championship by a up and 3 to play. The first round in the contest for the 6enior championship of the Witiora Olub tvas completed on Saturday, when Berridge beat O. Bayly, 1 up, and Hasell forfeited to Hooker. In the junior championship first round Bond beat Coad 2 up. Johnston beat Russell 1 up, Conwy beat MeHardy 3 up and 2 to play, R. George forfeited to Hooker. The draw for the second round will take place to-day.
