ASSESSMENT APPEALS.

AN IMPORTANT POINT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Last Night. The assessment Court resumed to-day. Mr. Strong, solicitor for the owner in a test ease, said he would appeal on two points: That the valuer used a wrong method of valuation by rating on the unimproved value first and the capital value last, and that lie did noi; consider the restrictions on alienation of Native land. All the other eases were then adjourned till October 10, pending the Supreme Court's decision, which may affect the cases to be heard at Te Kuiti and Otorolinnga, and, the Bench said, might upset the valuations of all the Maori lease land in New Zealand.
