BILLIARDS.
A NEW SALOON. A billiard saloon, beautifully furnished, and equipped with all the latest and most up-to-date appliances, was opened yesterday in the basement of the A.M.P. Society's new building, at the corner of Devon street and Egmont street, the entrance being by concrete steps leading down from the latter thoroughfare. Tlie proprietor is Mr. Antonio Bartlett, well known in connection with the Dominion saloon he has run in Webster's Buildings for the past eight or nine years, and his name will be a sufficient guarantee to patrons of the green cloth that their convenience and requirements will receivo cv'ery attention. The saloon has four fine standard tables, two by Messrs Baird and Jensen and two by .".iessrs Wright, Ranisch and Co., with cloths and cushions that must please the most fastidious cueist. Everything else is in keeping with the excellence of the tables; the electric lighting leaves nothing to be desired, and among the special features are tip-up chairs for the convenience of spectators, and a "clock marker'' of ingenious construction. Those in quest of a game of billiards under tlie most pleasant conditions should not fail to visit the saloon, ami their attention will be attracted to its doors by a novel illumination on the American revolving 'spiral principle. AN EXHIBITION MATCH. To mark the opening of the new Dominion Saloon, an exhibition match was played last night between \V. Wvllie and Roy Stewart, the latter conceding the former a start of 100 in a game of 500 up, and winning by 7Li points. The best breaks were 59 and sij, both oil Stewart's cue.
