POLITICAL CRISIS ENDED,
KERENSKY REMAINS PREMIER.
Petrograd, Aug. 5. Tliero was a crisis on M. Kereiisky'E decision to resign. MM. Tereschenko, Efremoff and Godniff and Prince Lvoft followed suit. M. Kerensky, after consultation with the Socialists, decided to remain, and the other Ministers will do likewise. The formation of the new Cabinet is proceeding. M. Teresehenko, summing up the debate, said that the anxiety of all parties to reach an agreement guaranteed thesafety of the country. The sitting was suspended to enabto the parties to settle their differences, and subsequently it was announced that the . five chief parties were prepared to entrust M. Kerensky with the reconatitution of the Government, on condition, firstly, on behalf of the Socialists, that the Government adhere to its declaration on July 21, secondly, on behalf of Hic Oadcta, that the Government enjoy wit ire freedom of policy ami be not subject to the influence or pressure of political parties. All parties agreed that M. Kereuaky Was the only man able to assure the government of the country. M. Nekrahofif announced the terms of compromise, iwlii/ch were immediately sommunicated to M. Kerensky. [The declaration of July 21 was referred to in the cablegrams as Mlowb: The Socialist Ministers have delivered an ultimatum demanding the immediate proclamation of the Republic by a Resolution on the part of all classes, divisions and ranks, and on bodgos twd medals; also, the reform of the land, financial and economic systems, firm measures against the counter-reyolution, and the dismissal of all unfaithful generals.!

Mouravicff, chairman of tho, commission of investigation into the ehargeb against ex-Ministers and ex-officials of the old regime, reports that the entire Cabinet was liable to prosecution, Some departments had not existed for a single day without crime. The commission possessed documents proving that Ministers had played a criminal game with the Duma. Ministers heljl undated forms signed by the Oz»r authorising the Duma's dissolution. The Ministry of the Interior employed a special staff to open private letters at the post office. The commission discovered cupboards full of extracts from those .letters, A summary of the most important extracts was submitted to the Czar. Chwoxtow, Home Secretary under the old regime, has been arrested and accused of squandering a million roubles. General Korniloff court-martialled General Maeviky, commander of the famous Guards regiments, for disobeying an order to fire upon deserters. Sentence of death was passed on General Maeviky. General Gourko was arrested in consequence of the discovery of a letter assuring the ex-Czar of his faithfulness, and stating that he would adjust -himself to the flew regime \intil the possibility of action arrived.
