(Sydney, August 8. In the Assembly ihe* Budget was delivered.. It showed a revenue of £20,011.000, being £287,000 short of the estimated receipts and, a deficit for tho year of £268,000. It/is estimated that the revenue for 1917-13 will amount to i£22,417,810 and the expenditure to '£22,385,955, an increase of £1,814,000. The estimated revenue from new sources is £1!»,000. The public debit on June 30 amounted to £138,347,000.
The railway and tramway earnings are anticipated to show an increase of £1,265,000, including £414,000 from the new rates. The new revenue includes an increase of £&3,000 from betting taxes. The Treasurer said the future was bristling' with difficulties so far as loan money was concerned, and the State Government preferred to stand aside rather than enter a domain which at the present time was essentially the, domain of the Federal Government, but felt confident that the (Government would be ablo to secure sufficient money to meet all ordinary obligations.
