KERENSKY'S OPTIMISM.
A POWERFUL SPEECH. Pctrograd, July 29. The united sitting of the executive committee of the workmen's, soldiers' and peasants' deputies has concluded. The Socialist .Ministers made a report for the fir.;t time since the new regime. M. Kerensky, in a powerful speech, said: "Let nobody imagine the blow to our front will have the. effect of moving Russia back an inch. The army will obey the War 'Minister, and we must concentrate on defence and re,-«ta;blish-injj our anry'B moral and strength and (also safeguard our great revolutionary conquests." M. Kerensky solemnly declared that any attempt to restore tho monarchy would be firmly and mercilessly suppressed. A wave of depression was overwhelming people owing to the continual retreat, but there are distinct indications that the tide has turned. Tho Moscow conference has been postponed until M. Kerensky supplements his Ministry. It is reported that Lenin has evaded ane-t and reached Stockholm. He hid at Itronstadt during the disorders, disguised as a sailor.
