THE DRAFTING PROCESS. INTENSE INTEREST DISPLAYED. Received Jrlv 21, 5.3 p.m. New York. July 20. Intense interest centres in the selection of the drafted men, which commenced at the State buildings this morning. Throughout the country- there are unprecedented demands for newspapers, the evening papers bringiug out scores of edition?. These are bought up as soon as they reach the streets. Instead of the usual striking news headings the front pages are devoted to a mass of figures showing the order whereiu recruits are to be drawn. Crowds fight in the streets to obtain editions. The drawing is unlikely to be completed until Saturday morning.
