The survivors of the United States vessel Orleans, which was tcrnedord, state that when the vessel sank the captain was drawn under wi<« - , but was later picked up by a yacht. Meanwhile the submarine circled round a boatload of the survivors and an officer asked, "where is the captain';" The survivors replied that they belioved he had gone down with the ship. The officer cursed in English, saying "I bent's a price of 24,000 marks on his head, we want him."
