The Chinese headquarters at San Francisco has received a cable stating that Sun-Yat-Sen has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Republican naval forces. London, July C. The Morning Post's correspondent at Tientsin says that 50,000 Republican troops are converging on Pekin, where Changhsun's forces number 3000. Tuanghijui's ultimatum promises Royalists lenient treatment if they lay down their arms. Hschowfu is deserting Chang Hsun. The latter is reported to be arranging to transfer the Emperor to Jehol. ROYALISTS FIGHTING REPUBLICANS. ALLIED TROOPS 'PROCEED TO PEKIN. Received July 9, 5.5 p.m. Poking. July 7. General Chang S'nun's royalist troops are fighting a large force of Republicans 35 miles from Pekin. It is feared that Chant; Shun's position is hopeless. Chang Shun's troops have torn up the railway at Langsang, midway between Tientsin and Pekin. It ia understood the Foreign Powers are sending detachments to restore railway communication. Anglo-French, Japanese, and American troops are proceeding to Pekin to reinforce the Legation guards. TO WHOM MONARCHY APPEALS. Tientsin, July' 6.
