galicia offensive resumed. MASSED INFANTRY ATTACKS. Germany hastily concentrating. TROUBLESOME LENINITES. Received July 9, 5.5 p.m. London, July 7. [ The Russian, oftensive in Galicia has been vigorously resumed. Massed infantry attacks in the Zborow, Koniucliy and Brzezany regions are progressing favorably. They were made on a large scale. The Daily Chronicle's correspondent in Galicia states that Petrograd is closely linked up with the battlefields wlier; Russia is fighting far her existence on two fronts, and that while General Brusiloff continues his advance on a fortymiles front in Galicia the German agents at Petroprad are not slumbering. The latest war news shows that the offensive is not a mere demonstration, but a clear, strategical plan, immediately threatening, Bzrezanv and Halicz. The enemy is incapable of understanding the mobile Russian mentality, and is'now hastily concentrating reinforcements, including fresh formations from the interior of Germany. The enemy counter-attacked at Miecwszczow because a Russian army corps was forcing the Zlota-Lipa, and thereby exposed the Austrian line to the greatest danger. The Russians repr-lled the counter attacks, but did not press their advance. It is noteworthy that among the first to fall in the advance were many leaders of the Regimental Committees and delegates from the fighting corps taking part in the "All Russia" Congress. These hastened to join the offensive. The infantry are delighted at the powerful artillery preparations which arc eclipsing anything seen on the Russian front. The Czech-Slovak division particularly distinguished itself in the fighting. Meanwhile the Leninites are openly condemning the offensive, declaring that the army has been misled by the Socialist Ministers who are playing into th# hands of the Allied Imperialists. There is not the slightest doubt that the Leninites are making headway among the Petrograd masses. The Leninites are prepared to use power to force the matter io a crisis. SHARP ENCOUNTERS. A BATTLE PROCEEDING. Received July 8, 5.5 p.m. London, July 7. A wireless Russian official message states that there is increased reciprocal artillerying in the direction of Zolotchev. A battle is proceeding in the direction of the Sakkiz. in the region of Bistana and the Abishirvan river, with reinforced Turks. i
