BRUGES BOMBED.
BY ALLIED AIRMEN'. Wellington, July 5. The High Commissioner reports, under date London, July I', 12.10 p.m.: — The Admiralty reports: On Monday night and Tuesday morning bombing raids were carried out on Bruges docks and Lichtervelde ammunition depots. Several tons of bombs iwere dropped with good results. The machines returned safely. Bruges is 15 miles from Ostend and 9 miles from Zeebrugge. while Lichtervelde is 'l3 miles east of 'Dixmude. London, July 4. Sir Douglas Haig reports: There was considerable reciprocal artillery work in the region of Ypres. There was aji enemy raid south-oast of Laventie. Hostile aerial activity has markedly increased. Our aeroplanes participated in successful artillery and ibombing raids. London, July 4. A French communique says: There is considerable activity north of St. Quentin, on the left of the Meuse, towards Hill 304, and in the Champagne in the Mont Millet and Mont Teton sectors. A SECOND EDITH CAVELL. Received July 5, 6.40 p.m. Amsterdam, July 4. The Germans at Liege court-martialled and shot within twenty-four hours Mademoiselle Grandprez and her brother for espionage.
