DOMINION WINTER SHOW.

AND BRITISH TRADERS' EXHIBITION; This year the show has features quite unique in the history of similar institutions in New Zealand. It includes with its ordinary display of machinery, dairy produce 'and other sections for which a sound reputation has been built up, an exhibition which illustrates some of the industries which have been specialties of Great Britain and which for quality are acknowledged as unapproachable in the world. Necessarily in the comparatively small space available at such a show it is quite impossible to do more than, as it were, touch the fringes of the immense field covered by British industrial enterprise. This is really only a pioneer effort, a few samples, so to speak, from the huge organisation existing in Great Britain. It serves to suggest to the people of the Dominion the extent and variety of British trade and to prepare the way for the larger and more extensive exhibitions which are to* be a feature in the near future. For this reason alone it will be of extraordinary interest. The show will be heralded by the display of British goods in window in Hawera, and the grand procession through the brilliantly lighted and decorated streets to the exhibition buildings, which will take place on Monday evening next. On' Tuesday afternoon the formal opening will be performed by the British Trade Commissioner, Mr. R. W. Dalton, under whose guidance the British Trade Exhibition has been planned. The carrying out of the design has been in the hands of Mr. L. 0. Hpoker, who has been responsible, as show director, for the general management of the exhibition.
