ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.

EXECUTIVE MEETING, The usual monthly meeting o( the executive of the North Taranaki H»d Centre of the Royal life Saving Socitty was hold in the Soldiers' Club last night. The chair was occupied by Mr D. J, Hughes, there being also present: Missis E. White and J. Mclsaao, Messrs N, Winter, P. J, Flanagan, C. Bond, X. A, Christiansen, W. J. Walker, A. Milne, J. Bennett, P. A. Schwartz (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Sir S. G. Smith (treasurer and deputy president).

The secretary read the examiners' re« ports, showing that the following candidates were entitled to awards t Award of Merit-Mr W. J. Walker.

Proficiency Certificates—Mem* G, A, Lyall, W. A. Dean, Arthur V. Sims, and Master Edward H Golding. Elementary Certificates—Messrs G. A, Lyall, W. A. Dean, A. V. Sims. Examiners' reports were also reoelved on examinations held at Eltham, but until the entrance fees oamo to hand they could not bo dealt with.

On the motion of the chairman, It wai decided to approach the Kew Plymouth Borough Council with a view to obtaining the use of a room for the of the society ( and in which instruction ir. swimming and life saving could alio be given, and the executive war# appointed a deputation to wait on fbg council at their meeting.

The president then' present#! the award of merit to Air W. J. Walker and an elementary certificate to Mr P. J, Flannagnn, congratulating the recipients and wishing them every future success, Messrs Walker and Flanagan mMs suitable acknowledgment!.
