FOR APRIL, 1017. Following is tlio weather report fur' the month of April, taken at Pukekur.!} Park Meteorological Station, altitude I 10011. (Mr W. W. Smith, observer): —. Excepting a rapid lowering of the ■atmospheric hygrometric and terrestrial temperature on the 17th, caused by a chilly south-east wind and heavy fall of snow on Mount the month was otherwise mild and seasonable. The first 12 days were within the equinoctial period, but passed without the occurrence o{ nnv high or destructive winds. Fresh winds occurred on the l«th and lfltln A slight earthquake occurred at 7 p.m. on the Ist. Thunder (N.R) was noted on the Oth. Fog 3 occurred on the 10th, lltli and 12th. llain fell on '2O days, 2 points on sth, ISI points on 15th; total, 7.034 in. Maximum temperature, Gldeg. on 23rd and 30tlty. 74deg. on Oth. Minimum temperature, 4Sdeg. on 30th, <sßdeg. on Oth. Maximum wet-bulb, 45dcg. on 30th, fiMeg. on 11th and 12th. Minimum wet-'bulb, i)sdeg. on 30th, oudeg. on ,13th. Solar radiator (sun's heat), 130deg. on 23rd, 132deg. on 7tb. Terrestrial radiator (Sin. from grass), 38deg. on SOtli, on It'll. Sunshine recorder, 2min. on 12tU, ,10h. smin. on 10th, total 14'8hr. 2mii. The Ist,, 10th, 11th, l"th, 14th, loth anii 29th were sunless days. The wind blew from the north on 5 days, north-east G, south-oast 10, southwest 5, west 2 days. The 11th. aoid 12tih were calm days.
