_ A CONTRACT CANCELLED. Australian-N.Z.'Cable Association, Sydney. May 1. It is officially announced that the government's contract with Norton Griffiths and Company has been cancelled on terms satisfactory to both parties. Ilia Government's reasons for seeking release from a contract involving seven i millions were the difficulties arising owing to the war in obtaining the plant, material and necessary labor.
