DOMINION'S GOOD POSITION. The following comparison of the increases in the retail price of foods from July, 1914, to November. 1010, between vnrious countries throughout the world, is contained in the BnllKii! of the Employers' Federation. Figures for a later date are not generally available. It must be noted that the figures regarding the level cf prices in Germany aiul Austria, which are based on artificially fixed raa:;innim prices, are no; strictly comparable, with the prices o? other countries, which are based on thn prices in a free market.
There has been a recent substantial advance in retail prices in Canada. NewZealand has now taken Canada's position as the country, next to the United States, showing; the smallest war increase.
