There were great demonstrations on Sunday in honor of America's intervention. The crowds gave an pvation to the Ambassador. LAON CATHEDRAL. London, April 23. The Daily Mail states that unless an ultimatum 'is sent to the Germans Laon Cathedral will be destroyed within ten days. The paper proposes that Germany be informed that Cologne Cathedral will be destroyed as a reprisal. ;• JAPANESE ELECTIONS. Tokio, April 23. In tho elections the Government was victorious. It is estimated that the Government will have 217 seats and the Opposition 164 seats. This is interpreted as showing confidence in the leadership of Baron Terauchi, and is expected to emphasise Japan's support of the Entente. PRO ALLIES DEMONSTRATION.
