PROTECTING THE RESERVISTS' INTERESTS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Timaru, April 13. The executive of Hie South Canterbury Second Division League has drafted a platform and proposals in regard to pay and pensions. The platform is non political, the League to help the Government to carry out its military Acts and endeavour to secure adequate pay, allowances and pensions for all soldiers and dependents, and co-operate wu.. other leagues. The proposals, which are to be submitted to a general meeting, Include.—The pay of a private not to be less than 7/1 a day and 1/- separation allowance for wife and I/O each child from the day of enlistment, the pension not to be less than the soldier's pay in service for total disablement. The amount of death pension, plus £1 per week for partial disablement allowance, to bring the income to equal that of total dimblement.
