PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP. SOLE WINS fa SECTION A. Tho green was in excellent order for the second day's play of the Pairs Championship at Stratford. A good deal of interest was taken in the contest and the green was attended by a fair attendance of visitors, besides players. Light refreshments were kindly provided by the club and much appreciated. The West End pair, Sole and Tlill, had a day out, scoring four wins, and are virtual winners of the section here, sixth round, having gone through without a loss, and with one match to play <are two wins ahead of Brunch (Inglcwood)t who also had an unbeaten day. In the eighth round, Rattenbury put up a big fight against the leaders. At the last head the scores were 15 all. When the skips went down, Waitara lay two. Sole's second bowl seat kitty to the ditch, Rattenbury's bowls were both a little short, whilst Sole managed to score with his two last shots, making his tptal 17 and Rattenbury 15. At Inglewood, also, the tournament was advanced another s< ge, iwhen play up to the eighth round was completed. The day was gloriously fine and the rink in splendid order. Oliver lias to meet Wylie, and should the former win and Smart also win his match, three teams will tie. The final and semi-finals will be played at Inglewood to-day, Details of the day's play;-' .
