The engineer (Mr. Cyras Williams) forwarded account for reporting on the bay, totalling £IOO. The Board decided to write to tin Council for the amount of money spent in making the gravel pit on the Board's reserve free from danger. VOWX 30AKD. The Bo.r/d met on Monday evening. The hall custodian and lamp-lighter forwarded his resignation, which was aecepted# Mr. Higgins was appointed to the position. In reference to the Board's request for payment of half the cost of tarring am} sanding frontages (footpath), 4he Justice Department said the request would receive due consideration, and the police authorities had forwarded the application to the Commissioner.' The cost of tarring and sanding the path from the Post Office to the Club ■Hotel was estimated at £l4. The tender of Jas. Hickey at 8s 6d per yard wah received for "delivery of 120 yards of crushed boulder stone. Mr. Norfolk asked the Board to make a footpath from the main street to the full length of Longfellow road. The ratepayers were prepared to subsidise it The foreman'was authorised to report on the cost of forming and makin» the footpath. ° The registration fee for stock as from April 1 next washed at the usual amount. All accounts overdue after April 2 will incure the ten per cent, penalty. GENERAL. At the Opunake green on Wednesday the Pihama bowler 3 defeated Opunak* by one point. At the horse fair on Saturday the prices of horses' were the lowest recorded for many years past.
