(By Our Travelling Representative). Hawera, March 7. The Medical Board appeared to be very busy to-day. Quite a large num- 1 ber of future soldiers left the trains here fot the purpose of medical examination. The Normanby Show is now .being held. A visitor informs ine that the entries this year are well up to previous years. This society is one of the oldest of its Kind in Taranaki, and in the show is Xormanby's main draw each year. Substantial support is generally secured from Hawera and Eltham, and the prize list will probably show that some of the "outsiders" will figure prominently. Like other bands, the Hawera body has been hard put to it to keep going, owing to enlistments. Some of the old 'uns have again hooked on to the euphonium and big bass, and are thus
