In the Gilmour Cup contest at West End on Saturday afternoon the play was decidedly in favor of West End. their three teams being well organised, and had the advantage of competent skips, whereas Fit/.roy could only rely 011 Smith, who was practically theif only hope of success. His was the only team that secured an advantage, and had he drawn instead of driving on one or two occasions, lie would probably have pulled the match out of the fire.
