LOCAL COASTAL SERVICE.

THE SCHEME APPROVED. . A largo representative meeting was held in New Plymouth last night to discuss tile question of establishing a local shipping company. After discussion,' the following motion was carried: That this meeting affirms the desirability of forming a coastal company." The following committee was set up to obtajn data and bring down a report to a future meeting:—Messrs C. H. Burgess, Newton King, D. li. Morrison, C, A. Wilkinson, M.P., W. 0. Webster, J. R. CSruick'shank, J. Sole, G. P. Webster, R. Masters, E. Maxwell, T. P. Hughson, J. S. Fox, and F. S. Johns. Captain (harbourmaster) declared the wharfage was ready for the accommodation of vessels. Our report of the discussion will appear in to-morrow's isue.
