A London cable states that Mr Masaey has accepted an invitation to address the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce on the expansion of New Zealand trade after the war.
Mr. W. V. Harknesß, of Tariki, left by the mail train yesterday morning for Pukekohe, where lie will, judge the Jersey section at the Franklin'show to-day. Tho "New Zealand Tablet" states that the Rev. Dr. J. J. Kelly of Opunake, who has been appointed editor of that journal, is a nephew of Archbishop Kelly, of Sydney. He was born in County Wexford, Ireland. He went to Rome for his higher studies in philosophy and acquired a profound knowledge of\Rome and of ecclesiastical affairs. On returning to Ireland he was in turn a member of the Missionary Fathers of Enniscorthy, a science student at tho Royal College of Science, Dublin, and a professor of St. Peter's College, Wexford. He cjmc to New Zealand about four years ago, in search of health, and has worked ever since at Opunake.
