Advice has been received by Constable 0 Niiughton, of New Plymouth, that his brothel, Private Richard Nmighton, whose parents reside at Timaru, had died of wounds received in action in France. Private Naugliton was 22 years of age when he died. Trooper J. Perry, brother of Mrs. Nanghton, who went through the fiallipoli campaign, and was wounded on August 8, 1 !)].">, is, aceoiding to advice received, still on active service in France, and U doing well.

■News was received on Friday ot still another Eltham man who has given his life for his country. Mr. J. U. Murray getting an official intimation of the death of his younger son, Trooper George W. Murray. Trooper Murray, who was sheep farming on a Government section n.t> Tahora, joined the Wellington Mounted Rides, and left New Zealand with the Bth Reinforcements. He went through most of the lighting in Egypt, and was apparently wounded in the last engagement, from the effects' of which he died. The deepest sympathy is extended to -Mr. and Mrs. Murray and their family in their bereavement. Trooper Murray was well known in Eltham and the district, and also at Whangamomona. He was of quiet disposition, and was very popular and much respected by all, who knew him. In Eltham tihere was a universal expression of regret when the news of his death became public. Mr. ,T. "(J.
